According to Wikipedia , Social bookmarking is a way for Internet users to store, organize, share and search bookmarks of web pages. One of the advantages, is the ability to access your bookmarks from any computer on the internet.

Of course there are many social bookmarking sites. is the oldest, and I think Diigo is the best for education.. However you can check out some of the others at the EConsultant Directory. Or check out The Thinking Stick blog, where Jeff Utecht compares four of the top aggregators.


Diigo is a social bookmarking site, but Diigo’s power lies in it’s group annotations. That’s right, people can now write in the margins of webpages. You can highlight passages of interest, write notes, and even write a blog entry directly from another webpage, quoting passages right from the original text.
